Being Loved vs. Feeling Loved

All of us have fealt unloved at some point in life. Whether it be something that you struggle with often, or just an occassional feeling, it happens to us all. Because of this, I got to thinking. Just because someone doesn’t feel loved, doesn’t mean that they aren’t.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
– John 3:16

Let’s double-take for a second. Did you catch what that said? “…God so loved the world…”. Take note: it didn’t say “…God so loved Boston…” or “…God so loved LA…”; no, it said “…God so loved the world…”. Unless you are an ET, reading this from from space, you were directly referred to in this verse!

If we are clearly loved by the Creator of the universe, why are there days that we don’t feel this love? You know what, I wish I knew the answer to that. The only thing I do know, is that emotions have a way of making us forget what God has said.

In Numbers 14, it talks about how the Isralites begin to freak out, thinking that God had forgotten them. They even go to the extent of saying that they wished they were back in slavery! God had promised them freedom, and a life in the Promise Land, but they had completely forgetton about all of that. They had let the emotions of the moment, blind them from the truth.

Honestly, it may just be that simple. Take control of your emotions, before they control you.
